2019 Aetna Individual Medicare Producer Certification Begins July 11

Starting July 11, you can complete the 2019 annual certification process for Aetna and Coventry Individual Medicare products (MA/MAPD, PDP). It’s one of the annual requirements you must complete to sell Aetna 2019 plans this Annual Election Period. Watch for more details about certification later this month.

AHIP training will begin July 11. Completing the 2019 Aetna Individual Medicare producer certification includes AHIP and costs $125.

Aetna also has an app that you can use to enroll your clients. With the Ascend Virtual Sales Office app, the electronic enrollment tool, you can:

  • Shorten the sales cycle and hold more appointments
  • Submit enrollments electronically
  • Eliminate paperwork
  • Reduce application errors
  • Quickly access resources all in one place

To start using the Ascend app, login to Producer World, go to the Ascend Virtual Sales Office app section and then click on “request access” to get started.

Mutual of Omaha is making rate adjustments effective August 1, 2018.

SilverScript Update: Agent Portal Redesign & Debut

On the evening of June 15, the SilverScript Agent Portal will be unavailable while they prepare to launch the NEW SilverScript Agent Portal. The updated system will be available for you by the morning of June 18, 2018.

Some of the highlights:

  • Across the site, the user experience has been updated based on agent and agency administrator interviews and feedback.
  • While the Enrollment Portal’s functionality is mostly unchanged, the interface is 100% new.
  • New “I want to…” menu for agents and administrators has been added to access the most commonly used pages with just one click, for ease of navigation.
  • On June 18th, you may use your old browser bookmark to get to the new portal. You will be automatically redirected to the new portal where you will use your old password to log in. You will then be asked to change your password.


New Look

As you can see from the two home pages shown here, the new Enrollment Portal follows the same look that you see on all other CVS Health websites and portals.



New Site Navigation

The new menus are organized around different types of common tasks, and are varied based on your user role, enabling you to get the information you need quickly.

Introducing “I want to …”

The new navigation menus offer an intuitive way to get to the portal functions you need. To put the functions that you rely on most in one area, SilverScript created the “I want to …“ menu. Each item on the menu is an action, presented the way you would finish the “I want to …“ sentence.

Also, as you may notice in the screenshot below, your reports can now be found under Reports > My Clients, or I want to > “See the status of my Enrollments”.

This portal will make it easier for you to conduct your business, as well as easier to find enrollment information and agent training resources. More info to come… Remember, the Portal will be down on June 15 and back up no later than June 18.

UnitedHealthcare’s new Second Opinion service will provide members access to personalized consultations with medical experts by video or phone. The service will be offered by top medical specialists throughout the United States through 2nd.MD, a third-party vendor.

Consultation requests can be made 24/7 online or from phone 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET; for critical care cases, nurses are available 24 hours a day. By being able to use this service from anywhere, members get improved access, which is especially important to those with geographical limitations, and improved convenience, eliminating the need to take time off from work to go to an appointment.

UnitedHealthcare Offers New Tool for Comparing Drug Prices

UnitedHealthcare’s PreCheck MyScript tool makes comparing drug prices easy. This tool enables physicians to see the precise cost information based on the patient’s benefit plan and the pricing information for the selected pharmacy; they will also be alerted to prescription drugs that require prior authorization, are not covered or are non-preferred.
