Medical Mutual 2019 MAPD Certification Opens July 11, 2018

The Title 18 Attestation is required. All other modules are also mandatory and allow 5 attempts. A passing grade of 90% is required.

New for 2019: each module includes downloadable slides. We have also incorporated the sales presentation videos into the Sales Events Training modules. There are two 12 minute videos. You must remain on the first slide of each video for 1 minute. It will then allow you to proceed without watching the entire video. These videos are posted in MyBrokerLink for future reference/use.

Certification completed beginning July 11th will allow you to sell for the remainder of 2018 as well as 2019.

Medical Mutual Acquires Superior Dental Care

Medical Mutual recently signed an agreement to acquire Dayton-based Superior Dental Care (SDC). SDC will continue to run from the Dayton area as a wholly owned subsidiary of Medical Mutual. The acquisition is expected to close by July 31, 2018.

Medical Mutual would like to assure that the acquisition will have no impact on:

  • Commissions, overrides, or our go-to-market strategy
  • Customers or prospects in force
  • Medical Mutual’s current dental products

Medical Mutual Changes How Commissions Are Accessed

Effective April 16, 2018, Medical Mutual commission statements will be accessible only through MyBrokerLink and will no longer require a separate registration or log-in. The first commission statements available on MyBrokerLink will be for the March 2018 commission payment.

Medical Mutual March Updates: Commissions, Bonus Programs, And More!

Medical MutualMedical Mutual recently released a number of updates regarding commission statements, broker bonus programs, the Internal Revenue Bulletin (IRB) 2018-10, and MedFlex HMO plans:

  • Effective April 16, 2018, commission statements will be accessible only through MyBrokerLink and will no longer require a separate registration or login.
  • Small Group (1-50) New Sales Bonus Program and Small Group Volume Bonus Program
  • In response to the IRS Internal Revenue Bulletin, members have until April 15, 2019, to correct an overage if the $6,900 limit for HSAs is exceeded in 2018.
  • The new MedFlex Network, a non-gatekeeper HMO designed to reduce the total cost of care and give members the freedom to choose their providers, has been available to large groups since January 1, 2018.
