Important Notice Regarding Humana Billing Invoices

Humana recently released a free and secure electronic billing invoice that enables clients to pay their invoice quickly and safely without the use of paper.

A few benefits of the new system:

  • A reduction of paper and waste
  • Invoice is available immediately after the billing cycle closes
  • Can elect to receive notifications that the invoice is available along with various payment reminders and notifications
  • Can set up automatic recurring payments for a hassle free payment experience
  • Access to full details of invoice via PDF and Excel options

Beginning with the April invoice, paper invoices will no longer be mailed.

Updates on Humana Level-Funded Premium and Bonus Opportunities

Level Funded Premium:

  • Starting August 1st, Level-Funded Premium will only be sold to groups with fewer than 100 eligible employees
  • Humana will automatically complete and submit 1094/1095-B forms on behalf of LFP groups with fewer than 51 eligible employees for 2018
  • Humana will offer LFP down to 5 enrolled in KY and IN for an 8/1 quote date with a 9/1 effective date (already offer in OH)

Quoting Made Easier with Humana

Starting with 7/1/18 quoting for a 9/1/18 effective date, Humana will be moving to a new rating model for groups 10–99 where individual medical questionnaires will no longer be required for the Level-Funded products 2–50 or Fully Insured 51–99 enrolled with less than 100 eligible. See the attached chart for more details on quoting with the Humana Risk Analytic Engine (HRAE).

Humana Updates to 2018 Producer Partnership Plan

Humana has made updates to the 2018 Producer Partnership Plan (PPP) for Individual Medicare, Medicare Supplement, Dental, and Vision products. These updates include changes to the Medicare Supplement Commission Schedule, which will be effective beginning May 1, 2018.

Below is an overview of the changes to the Medicare Supplement Commission Schedules:
  • A new Medicare Supplement Commission Schedule has been added for policies with effective dates on or after May 1, 2018 (pages 21–28).
  • This updated version of the PPP contains two Medicare Supplement Commission Schedules:
    • For policies with effective dates between January 1, 2018, and April 30, 2018.
    • For policies with effective dates on or after May 1, 2018.
  • New schedules for policies with effective dates on or after May 1, 2018, are outlined by age bracket (under 65, 65-80, 81+), state, and compensation year.
  • First Year commissions will be paid annually for policies with effective dates on or after May 1, 2018.
  • Renewal commissions will continue to be paid monthly.
