UHC’s New Authentication Process: LEAN & Jarvis Systems

Effective June 7th 2018, UnitedHealthcare will have an additional authentication process that will be required for an agent to access LEAN & Jarvis. This not only impacts every agent/agency that has a current login, but also any staff that uses the agents/agencies login for the website. Every person will be required to have their own Optum ID to access Jarvis.

Your Action

  • You MUST log in with or register for an Optum ID in order to access Jarvis and LEAN as of Thursday, June 7.
  • On June 7, you will be prompted to register when you go to Jarvis or LEAN. Simply set up an Optum ID and connect it to Jarvis and LEAN. If you have an existing Optum ID, sign in with that information and you can connect it to Jarvis and LEAN.
  • Note: You will NOT be able to register until June 7 if you don’t currently have an Optum ID.

What is Optum ID?

Optum ID is a secure, centralized identity management solution that allows you to use a single sign-on for any applications connected to Optum ID. It’s a secure double authentication process similar to processes you may be familiar with like a bank or credit card.

Why Optum ID?

  • It provides an extra level of authentication security.
  • It prevents unauthorized access to your accounts.
  • It simplifies the registration process by eliminating the need to register your Party ID and Agent ID separately.

UnitedHealthcare Bonuses for 51+ Groups!

UnitedHealthcare is offering a bonus to agents in Ohio who sell new UnitedHealthcare fully insured medical groups with 51 to 3,000 eligible employees, and at least 40 enrolled employees, from July 1, 2018, through October 31, 2018. To receive a bonus, agents must have a combined total of at least 100 enrolled employees in eligible groups.

Eligible groups are new UnitedHealthcare fully insured medical groups that have:

  • 51 to 3,000 eligible employees;
  • At least 40 employees enrolled for medical coverage;
  • Effective dates from July 1, 2018, through October 31, 2018.

Agents who meet the qualifying requirements will earn a bonus of up to $3,000 for selling eligible medical groups. An additional bonus will be paid if at least two employer-sponsored Specialty Benefits lines of coverage are sold with a qualifying medical group. The bonus amount for each qualifying group is based on the number of enrolled employees for medical coverage, as indicated in the following table:

Bonus Example: An eligible agent sells three eligible fully insured medical cases: one with 45 enrolled medical employees; a second with 125 enrolled medical employees; and a third with 250 enrolled medical employees, for a combined total of 420 enrolled employees in eligible cases. The agent also sells employer-sponsored group life insurance and group dental insurance with all three cases. The agent has met the qualifying requirement of a combined total of at least 100 enrolled employees in eligible groups, and therefore receives a bonus of $550 for the first group ($500 for the medical and $50 for the Specialty Benefits coverages), $1,700 for the second group and $3,300 for the third group, for a total bonus of $5,550.

Please see the attached flyer for additional details. Let me know if you have questions about the new bonus program.

Quit For Life is a clinically proven tobacco cessation program offered in collaboration with the American Cancer Society. The program combines digital and telephonic tools and resources, along with physical, psychological, and behavioral strategies to help members overcome their tobacco addiction.

Throughout the program, members have access to a highly trained, experienced Quit Coach to help make a plan, set a quit date, and provide ongoing support. In addition, members receive many tools and resources to help keep them engaged and on track with their cessation plan, including:

  • Expert-led online courses
  • Urge management tools
  • Digital first approach (portal and mobile support)
  • Highly trained tobacco cessation coaches

Since 2009, Quit For Life has been delivered to the market in collaboration with the American Cancer Society. This product also has multiple other partners and accreditations, including the Society of Behavioral Medicine, Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence, World Health Organization, and Stanford Research Institute International. Quit For Life has helped more than 3.5 million people and has delivered impressive results:

  • 49% quit rate
  • 95% program satisfaction
  • 97% of participants would recommend the program

Although smoking rates have declined over the years, one out of six American adults still smokes. Costs to employers are staggering: $3,160 in medical expenses + $146 in workers’ compensation + $1,066 in lost productivity + $1,903 in smoking breaks = $6,275 total.

It can be difficult for people to stop smoking or using any form of tobacco, especially without the proper help and resources. Quit For Life provides members with the coaching, tools, and resources to help improve their confidence and motivation to quit.
