Jillian Froment to Serve as Director of the Ohio Department of Insurance

Ohio Gov. John R. Kasich named Jillian E. Froment as the director of the Ohio Department of Insurance on Friday, replacing Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor.

“Jillian has worked closely with Mary since the beginning of the Administration and has a deep knowledge of the insurance industry and the Department and I am confident that she will be able to continue Mary’s record of steady, professional management,” said Kasich in a press release.

Froment, the current Treasurer of the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission, has served as deputy director since 2011 and has actively represented Ohio in the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Obamacare Could Remain In Force Through 2017

Cleveland local news reports that healthcare authorities are encouraging coverage with Obamacare, noting that any changes to the existing program will likely roll out in 2018. For now, the Ohio Department of Insurance plans to operate as if nothing about current healthcare legislation has changed.
