Effective April 15, 2021, select 2017 Humana Level Funded Premium (LFP) medical plan(s) will be automatically updated to comply with the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, as required by federal law.
MHPAEA is a federal law that generally prevents group health plans and health insurance issuers that provide mental health or substance use disorder (MH/SUD) benefits from imposing less favorable benefit limitations on those benefits than on medical/surgical (M/S) benefits. MHPAEA applies to most fully insured or self-funded employment-based group health coverage.
